Our Vision Statement
“The Olds Community Garden includes people from all walks of life who want to participate in and learn about the growing of their own food. OCGG is open to collaborating with other groups who are interested in learning and sharing information about gardening techniques. The OCGG supports eco-friendly sustainable gardening.”
Our garden is directly south and east of the Olds Aquatic Centre, in central Alberta. We started in 2009 by planting potatoes as a fund raiser for the garden (bringing in $214!) and the dream became a reality when the Olds Rotary Club decided to grant us $3000 to kick off the project. With 1000's of volunteer hours, our garden is built. We now have 21 plot renters, a shared orchard, a tool shed, an irrigation system, benches to rest on and a little place to grow our healthy food together.
